Catalog

the catalog i got was  NATIVE AMERICAN, PRE-COLUMBIAN AND TRIBAL ART. There are many neat pictures of baskets woven with very creative patterns. i think its my favorite part of the book. there is also pottery with intricate patterns drawn on them .looks like the patterns took hours to do, well some of them. i will try and up load some pictures to share with everyone!

Lab Hours

2 hours and 30 mins: spent at the state museum trip. saw a lot of neat objects and got some ideas on how to prepare and make props.

idea on the presentation of the collection 2/13/14

1 hour: spent reading through the discussions and looking over the chapters of the book in order to get an idea of how thee collection should be presented
30 minutes: tried to write on the discussion board but did not work so i will write it on my blog. i believe that we should do a sort of geographical display. have a timeline of when in time the family traveled, and group together all items that pertain to that country. for example all artifacts collected in Africa should be grouped together. perhaps with brief summary s of who found them and what year.

well an hour into the lorax and i have finally figured out how to add other peoples blogs. i had to do it completely different than instructed......

so after 40 minutes of looking at the accession sheets, i think i figured out what artifacts i chose.
